Linked to the reveal of the first road electrified 911 in history, Porsche Design unveils new models including a customizable travel watch. The Porsche 911 Generation 992.2 is a mid-life update of the iconic sportscar, with hybrid power that provides electric assistance to boost performance.
Despite not being a full EV or a plug-in hybrid, the new 992.2 models offer electric assistance to the engine. The base 911 Carrera model is still powered by a classic 3.0-litre turbocharged engine, while the all-important hybrid Porsche 911 Generation 992.2 GTS comes with the T-Hybrid system and electric motors integrated into the turbochargers to reduce turbo lag and increase power.
With a lightweight high-performance battery in the front, the weight of the hybrid model is kept down. The Porsche 992.2 GTS has 541hp and 610nm of torque, making it more powerful than its predecessor.
The updated Porsche 992.2 models feature modernized details in their classic 911 design. Inside the car, the gauge cluster has been replaced by a full digital element, and the key has been replaced by a start-stop button. Rear-axle steering and active anti-roll bars are included as standard features.
In addition to the new cars, Porsche Design offers customization options for their watches. The classic chronograph can now be customized with a dial ring available in all exterior colors of the new 911, as well as iconic and historic colors from the Paint to Sample program. The titanium bracelet and straps also come in new colors linked to the Porsche vehicle thread.
Porsche Design's travel watch, known as the 1919 shape, is now available in a classic titanium case. This dual-time watch features pushers on the side to adjust local time and is powered by the COSC-certified calibre WERK 04.110. The customization possibilities for this watch include a colored ring, strap or bracelet, and the option to engrave the solid titanium back with up to 5 lines of text.
The new options for the chronograph and the Custom-built Globetimer will be added to the configurator, allowing customers to create their own unique watch that is linked to their Porsche sports car.
