Expert Says Strong Passwords Can Protect Smart Watches from Hacking

2024-07-06 // SuperPodium
Cyber expert Vasily Shutov explains how to secure smart watches from hacking by using strong passwords and updating software regularly.

In an interview, Vasily Shutov, a professor and cyber security expert, shared tips on how to protect smart watches from hacking. Shutov advised users to set up strong passwords or PIN codes on their devices. He also mentioned that some smart watches support biometric authentication, such as fingerprint scanning, which makes them nearly invulnerable to hacking attempts. Shutov emphasized the importance of regularly updating the device's software and being cautious when downloading third-party applications. Additionally, he recommended disabling Bluetooth and Wi-Fi when not in use to enhance device security.

Earlier, another information security expert, Pavel Mizinov, expressed concerns about unmanned aerial vehicles being compromised through the use of loudspeakers broadcasting surrender messages. This highlights the importance of securing all types of technology devices, including smart watches.

Overall, implementing strong passwords, updating software regularly, and remaining vigilant while downloading apps can significantly reduce the risk of smart watch hacking. Taking these precautions is essential in maintaining the security and privacy of personal information.
