In the first hours of the "Science for Victory" dictation event, more than 229,000 high school and university students participated. The event, held across regional schools, colleges, and universities, aimed to test participants' knowledge of science and its historical significance.
The dictation consisted of 25 questions, crafted by historians from the Center for the History of Russian Science and Technological Development at RSUH. In Moscow, the event took place at Moscow State University and the House of Scientists at the Kurchatov Institute.
The initiative was designed to highlight the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War and to emphasize the role of science and technology in the Soviet Union's wartime achievements. By engaging young people, the event sought to foster a deeper appreciation for the scientific advancements that contributed to the war effort.
The "Science for Victory" dictation not only tested knowledge but also served as a reminder of the critical role science played during one of history's most challenging periods.
