The tourist successfully went through the mandatory procedure and noticed a forgotten item in the bin on the X-ray machine's conveyor belt - a watch. Thinking it was abandoned, the tourist decided to keep it. Little did he know that the watch actually belonged to another passenger who was heading to Moscow. At the gate, she realized that she had left all her belongings at the security checkpoint except for her watch, which was worth around 40,000 rubles.
The tourist reported the incident to the transport police, who, after reviewing the surveillance cameras, identified the 56-year-old man as the person who took the accessory. The missing watch was later found during a search conducted by the airport's police officers. The man is now facing criminal charges, and the maximum punishment for this offense is up to 5 years of imprisonment.
The transport prosecutor has already issued an accusatory conclusion, and the incident will now be considered in court. Previously, it was reported that a passenger's wristwatch had been stolen at Pulkovo Airport.
