A gang of at least five armed individuals broke into the house of former Italian national team midfielder, Roberto Baggio, while he was watching the Italy-Spain match with his family, according to Corriere del Veneto. It is believed that the robbery was meticulously planned by a professional gang, considering their methods and the timing, coinciding with the national team's match.
When confronted by one of the criminals, Roberto attempted to resist, but was struck on the forehead with the gun's handle, resulting in a severe wound. Subsequently, Roberto and his family were locked in a room for approximately 40 minutes. The thieves stole watches, jewelry, and money, and the extent of the damage is yet to be determined.
Once Baggio realized that the robbers had left, he broke down the door and called the police. Roberto was taken to the emergency department in Arciniano, where he received stitches on his forehead. Fortunately, none of Baggio's family members, including his wife and three children, were injured.
