The Flower Clocks in Krasnodar have been tested after undergoing reconstruction. The clocks have been returned to Krasnodar after being reconstructed in Rostov-on-Don. The clocks now have new hands and a dial, as well as modern electronic filling and lighting, according to the head of the capital of Kuban, Evgeny Naumov.
"Now the hands and dial hover above the flower bed," said Evgeny Naumov. "The mechanism itself has traveled hundreds of kilometers to take its place again. The lighting has been updated, and modern electronics with internet control have been installed. The city anthem of Krasnodar will be played through the speakers. The installation of the clocks took two days, and a test run has already taken place. The surrounding area will also be transformed soon. It will be a great gift for the City Day."
The appearance of the art object in the future park has undergone significant changes. Firstly, the angle of the dial has increased from 10 to 15 degrees to ensure good visibility from different points. Currently, storm sewers with five manholes are being laid, and the electrical and internet cables are being arranged on the site. The electrical infrastructure will provide power to the clock mechanism and the automatic watering pump, as well as to the 15 installed lighting poles. Surveillance cameras will also be mounted on the poles.
The final touches include planting 12 tulip trees measuring six meters in height, four large-leaved linden trees, as well as evergreen decorative shrubs. The Flower Clocks themselves will be adorned with beresklets and begonias. Flower beds with sage, lavender, magnolia, lilac, and weigela will also be created in the park. Thus, the landscape composition will represent a "living plant calendar," with a riot of colors from early spring to late autumn.
The improvement of the park at the intersection of Krasnaya and Gavrilova streets began at the end of March. The abandoned commercial buildings were previously dismantled on this site.
A sports facility will be built on the site of the former market in the Jubilee microdistrict. The location at ul. Dumenko, 13 will be used for market stalls starting from September 1st (until then, the market will continue to operate). The freed-up space will be converted into a social facility by the authorities of Krasnodar. The Mayor of the city, Evgeny Naumov, spoke about this.
"We continue to work on improving the territory," Naumov added. "It is not always about large spaces. Even small areas should not be ignored. For example, the market on Dumenko Street in the Jubilee microdistrict. It has long outlived its usefulness. Therefore, we decided to use the territory more functionally for the population. A project for a sports facility is being developed there. We are currently exploring what we can do based on the area, utility networks, and, of course, the wishes of the residents. Believe me, there will be no commercial activities allowed there."
