Quinoa: The Grain that Restores Digestion and Relieves Constipation

2024-07-24 // SuperPodium
A rheumatologist highlights the benefits of quinoa in improving digestive health and relieving constipation.

A rheumatologist named Nazira Khalimbetova has identified a type of grain that promotes normal intestinal function and helps alleviate constipation. This product is often referred to as the "edible gold of the Incas" and is known as quinoa. Quinoa is rich in vitamins, amino acids, and probiotic fibers. It is a favorite food of beneficial microorganisms that reside in our intestines, playing a crucial role in maintaining the immune system and the proper functioning of the gastrointestinal tract. Khalimbetova noted that quinoa has a pleasant taste with a hint of nuts. Therefore, it can be added not only to soups and salads but also used in dessert recipes.

Quinoa – The Sacred Grain

Quinoa is a cereal crop from the amaranth family that was first cultivated by the Incas in the Andes about 5000 years ago. The Incas considered it their main food and treated it as sacred. Its cultivation earned it the nickname "Peruvian rice."
